Our tours takes you into the central heartlands of remaining historical zones, edifices and explore the cultural landscape of Ghana;
Come and have an encounter with the past, the present and the amazing civilisation of the world’s friendliest people: the pomp and pageantry of royalty, music, dance , folklore, textile and culinary experiences would bring the understanding of the world’s heritage.

 

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival. Staff of Celmar Tours will meet you at Accra’s International airport and transfer you to your hotel. There will be a welcome ceremony and a briefing session. Rest of day at leisure and optional interests.

Day 2
Accra city Tour starts with a detailed guided tour of the National Museum and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park for an in-depth overview of the amazing history of the Gold Coast and the fascinating cultures of her diverse citizenry. After Lunch, visits will be to the research Library and center of African American Pan-Africanist, W. E. B. Du Bois, the Accra Arts center for crafts and the largest open air market in the capital- makola Market. Dinner and overnight in Accra.

Day 3
Depart Accra for Cape Coast, capital of the Central Region. Stopover at Mankesim for a visit a traditional Posuban Asafo Post. Continue to Cape Coast for a visit To Cape Coast ( aka Carpo Corso ) Castle built by the Sweds and used by England as the Seat of Governance for their West African colonies. After lunch, there is a guided tour of Elmina township for a vivid encounter with the history of the then Gold Coast and the culture of its people Dinner and overnight in Cape Coast.

Day 4
Depart to Kakum National Park for hiking across the only tree-top canopy walkway In Ghana and continue on a guided tour to discover rare tree species and their Medicinal, socio-cultural and economic importance. Lunch on the smooth sandy Beach restaurant. After lunch, visit the Elmina castle, the oldest European edifice in Sub-saharan Africa, built by the Portuguese in the 15th century. Dinner and Overnight In Cape Coast.

Day 5
Morning at leisure and optional activities: Drumming lessons/ traditional dance Lessons/traditional games. Early Lunch. Depart for Kumasi with visits to Assin Manso Slave River camp and Lake Bosomtwe, a natural crater lake enrue. Dinner and overnight in Kumasi.

Day 6
After breakfast, visit Manhyia Palace for a guided tour of the Museum of Ashanti Royalty and history. Continue to the famous crafts villages of Ashanti to see craftsmen weaving world famous Kente textile,making adinkra symbols textiles and carving of Ashanti stools and fertility doll from wood. There is the opportunity to buy directly from craftmen through lively bargaining, as prices are not fixed. Visit the center for National culture for brass casting and tye and dye/ batik making, Dinner and overnight

Day 7
Courtesy call and interaction with a Chief/Queenmother / naming ceremony/. Visit Okomfo Anokye Sword Site and Kumasi Fort, a Military Museum of the two world wars. Evening for Optional activities

Day 8
Depart Kumasi. Drive to Odumase-Krobo for hands on experience with the making, value and uses of beads in Ghana and elsewhere . There’s is the opportunity to join women for preparation of Ghanaian food. Overnight at Aburi, Near Accra.

Day 9
Breakfast in the garden followed by an in-depth guided tour of the Century Old botanical garden. After lunch, continue to Accra. Visit traditional casket workshop and the Accra Arts center for souvenir shopping.

Day 10
Morning for optional activities { African Hair braiding/ manicure and pedicure} Lunch at the hotel/ by the seaside. Farewell dinner and exchange of pleasantries . Transfer to Kotoka International airport for departure flight check in, End of package.
