Welcome on board to Burkina Faso, “the country of honest people”. A relatively peaceful country, Burkina Faso lies directly north of Ghana. Boasting a tropical climate, daily temperatures stay around 40°C. The country is known for her diverse but unique cultures. French is the official language.

Option A: SOUTHERN BURKINA TOUR
Day 1:
• Drive from Tamale to Paga
• Visit a crocodile pond in Paga for rare friendly interaction with the animals
• Paga border facilitation
• Drive to Tiebele to see the special wall paintings
• Continue to Ouagadougou for overnight

Day 2:
• Tour of Ouagadougou: BengrWeogo Park; National Museum; Fespaco Grounds; Artisans village and meet over 100 artisans and engage them as they work and display their hand-made craft items of all types; this is the time to practice your bargaining skills
• Overnight in Ouagadougou

Day 3:
• Drive to BoboDioulasso, making a stop at Sabou crocodile ponds
• Visit Boromo Park to see elephants and other wildlife [if there is time]
• Continue to BoboDioulasso for overnight

Day 4:
• Tour of the ancient Mosque of Bobo
• Visit the Ancient quarters for a full story of the founding of BoboDioulasso
• Visit the Bobo Market with its array of West African craftworks
• Continue to Dafra sacred fishes
• Notre Dame Catholic Cathedral
• End the day at the famous GuimbiOuattara Museum
• Overnight in BoboDioulasso

Day 5:
• Drive to visit the intriguing Kartifiguelacascading waterfalls in Banfora.
• Next, we visit the unique dome rocks of Fabedougou
• End the day visiting the wonderful peaks of Sindou and experience this natural haven of serenity at sunset.
• Possibility of mask cultural dance performance
• Overnight may be at a local guesthouse in Sindou, or in tents at the mountain site.

Day 6:
• Visit local goldsmith at work in the nearby village of Noumoussoba.
• We drive back to Bobo-Dioulasso whilst stopping over at the Tingrela hippopotamus lake sanctuary to track the mammals
• Overnight in Bobo-Dioulasso

Day 7:
• We continue northwards to Dedougou, the venue for 7 days biennial Mask Festival held in February – March. Spend some time at the festival (if festival is in session) and be treated to awesome performances that give abundant photo-taking opportunity. (Next festival will be in 2018)
• Drive to Koudougou later in the day for overnight.

Day 8:
• Visit today the Mask Museum at Manenga.
• Return to Ouagadougou for overnight.

Day 9:
• Depart Ouagadougou.

OPTION B:
Day 1:
• Arrive in Ouagadougou. Depending on time of arrival, there may be a nightlife experience of Ouagadougou.
• Overnight.

Day 2:
• Tour of Ouagadougou: BengrWeogo Park; National Museum; Fespaco Grounds; Artisans village and meet over 100 artisans and engage them as they work and display their hand-made craft items of all types; this is the time to practice your bargaining skills
• Overnight in Ouagadougou

Day 3:
• Drive to BoboDioulasso, making a stop at Sabou crocodile ponds

Day 4:
• Tour of the ancient Mosque of Bobo

Day 5:
• Drive to visit the unique dome rocks of Fabedougou
• Next, cool off the heat in the intriguing Kartifiguela cascading waterfalls in Banfora.
• End the day visiting the wonderful twisted rock formations of Sindou and enjoy the sunset in this beautiful “cluster of monoliths”.
• Possibility of mask cultural dance performance
• Overnight may be at a local guesthouse in Sindou, or in tents at the mountain site.

Day 6:
• Visit a typical Senoufou village and be shown all about their local granaries. Interact with local goldsmiths at work in the nearby village of Noumoussoba.
• Continue to the archaeological-rich Loroponi Ruins. This UNESCO World Heritage site is believed to have been home to the Lobi ethnic group some 1000 years ago
• Overnight in Loropeni or Gaoua.

Day 7:
• We continue eastwards through Diebougou to Tiebele.
• Overnight.

Day 8:
• Morning safari in Nazinga Park
• Spend the afternoon enjoying the beauty of Builsa traditional architecture and immerse yourself in Kasena culture.
• Overnight.

Day 9:
• Drive back to Ouagadougou and spend the rest of the day on your shopping.
• Depart Ouagadougou in the evening for home.

OPTION C: BURKINA FASO THROUGH NORTHERN GHANA
Day 1:
• Arrive in Accra
• Overnight.

Day 2:
• Morning tour of Accra including the ancient quarters of the city.
• Fly to Tamale in the afternoon
• Continue by road to Mole National Park
• Overnight.

Day 3:
• Morning safari at Mole Park
• Continue to Wa for a short tour of Wa township
• Overnight

Day 4:
• Visit Gwollu historical slave defense wall
• Continue to Hamile for border facilitation into Burkina Faso
• Drive to BoboDioulasso for overnight

Day 5:
• Tour of Bobo’sGrand Mosque (built in the 1890s)
• Continue through the ancient quarters of BoboDioulasso
• Visit the sacred fishes of Dafra
• Museum GuimbiOuatara
• Overnight

Day 6:
• Drive toBanforafor a visit of Kartifiguela waterfallsand the unique dome-shaped rocks;
• Visit TengrelaHyppo Lake
• Continue to Sindou peaks, with its C12th storage huts
• Overnight in Sindou or Banfora

Day 7:
• Return toBoboDioulasso
• Afternoon at leisure
• Overnight.

Day 8:
• Drive to Koudougou stopping over atSabou crocodile pond
• Continue to Koudougoufor a guided tour of the Issouka Museum (if there is time)
• Ouagadougou; overnight

Day 9:
• Visit Loango Granite sculpture site which showcases works of international artists from 5 continents
• Then to Ziniare Zoo (if group is interested)
• Leave for Manega to visit the masks museum of Manega
• Overnight at a local beach resort

Day 10:
• Loumbila water museum and beach activity
• Back to Ouagadougou for city tour:
• Visit BangrWeogo Urban Park, originally for Mossi chiefs
• The female statue of NabaKoom
• Fespaco [International Film Festival] Grounds
• Ouagadougou Botanic Garden
• Overnight in Ouagadougou

Day 11:
• Depart Ouagadougou early morning for Tamale
• Possible stopover at Tiebele in Burkina Faso [if there’s time], or Sirigu in Ghana for its famous Builsa traditional houses and wall paintings
• After border facilitationat Po, we cross over into Ghana
• Arrive in Tamale latest 2:00pm to catch a flight at 2:30pm for Accra
• Depart Kotoka International Airport for your journey back home.
